Statement
This body of work focuses on the Noumenon, where everything that cannot be experienced lives beyond our knowing. In these paintings I attempt to construct a portal, or threshold, of simultaneous experience to many points triangulated in space and time. The closer these places come to holding together compositionally, the more obvious the simultaneity and explicit the emptiness or relativity. The images in these paintings are taken from the same prehistoric burial site in Southern England. These pictures are puzzles of literally what's not there in a document, overlaying one vantage with another and seaming them all together in the affirmation of an object in our world-- the painting a portal of its own-- to the moment of looking.
